Industrial pipeline fitter (O4)

Purpose of the training:

Acquiring basic and detailed knowledge of reading isometric drawing, the ability to assemble piping systems, the ability to perform manual and mechanical processing of pipes and prefabricated piping components using an oxy-acetylene torch and plasma, the ability to perform fillet tack welds using TIG, MAG and MMA methods

Participant profile:

The training is addressed to fitters, welders, welding operators, welding supervision, quality control, NDT staff, technologists, technicians, constructors, people with technical knowledge in the field of assembly of industrial structures.

Training programme:

    Module 1:

  1. Introduction to theoretical knowledge of reading isometric drawing and material specification.
  2. Learning the general principles of isometric drawing (reading of deviations, spatial projection of elements, symbolic markings, selection of measuring devices).
  3. Practical exercises.
  4. Module 2:

  5. Performing manual and mechanical processing of pipes
  6. Presentation of the basic OHS regulations while cutting pipes: manually, mechanically, with plasma and oxy-acetylene torch.
  7. Presentation of general techniques and principles for manual plasma cutting.
  8. Presentation of general techniques and principles for cutting with an oxy-acetylene torch.
  9. Presentation of tracing techniques, threading and machining of pipes.
  10. On-the-job training/ practical activity.
  11. Module 3:

  12. Introduction to welding processes
  13. Basic concepts in welding.
  14. Welding imperfections. Standards for welding and welding operations, including welding joints.
  15. On-the-job training/ practical activity improvement of fillet tack welds by TIG, MAG and Electrode methods.

Training methodology:

Lecture and workshop training.

End of the training:

The training ends with an exam confirming the acquired knowledge and skills. After passing the exam, the participant receives a certificate issued by TÜV SÜD Poland.

Steel structure fitter (O5)

Purpose of the training:

Acquiring basic and detailed knowledge of reading technical drawing, thermal cutting and performing fillet tack welds using MAG and MMA methods

Participant profile:

The training is addressed to fitters, welders, welding operators, welding supervision, quality control, NDT staff, technologists, technicians, constructors, people with technical knowledge in the field of assembly of steel structures.

Training programme:

    Module 1:

  • Introduction to theoretical knowledge of reading technical drawing and material specification.
  • Marking of welds in drawings
  • Dimensioning of welds in the technical drawing
  • Presenting joints in drawings
  • Position of the reference line arrow
  • Elementary markings
  • Additional markings
  • Special markings
  • Dimensioning of welds
  • Examples of weld markings in drawings – practical workshops.
  • Module 2:

  • Presentation of basic OHS regulations while manual oxygen cutting.
  • Oxygen cutting process.
  • Construction and operation of oxygen cutting equipment.
  • Gases used for oxygen cutting.
  • General technological conditions for oxygen cutting.
  • Manual oxygen cutting technique.
  • Assessment of the surface quality after oxygen cutting.
  • On-the-job training/ practical activity.
  • Module 3:

  • Introduction to welding processes
  • Basic concepts in welding.
  • Welding imperfections. Standards for welding and welding operations, including welding joints.
  • On-the-job training/ practical activity – improvement of fillet tack welds by 
    MAG and MMA methods
  • Exam

Flange connection fitter – execution and supervision (A6)

Purpose of the training:

Acquiring basic and detailed knowledge of the ability to perform and supervise the assembly of flange connections in compliance with the applicable standard.

Participant profile:

The training is addressed to welders, welding operators, fitters, welding supervision, quality control, NDT testing staff, technologists, technicians, constructors, people with technical knowledge in the field of assembly.

Training programme:

  • Discussion of types of gaskets and flange connections, types of bolts, markings, class of execution.
  • Gaskets – materials, thickness and stress. Replacement.
  • Gasket, its operation in connection – deformations.
  • Discussion of the friction mechanism, interaction of the gasket and flanges; friction on the thread surface.
  • Flexibility of flange connections.
  • Assembly of flange connections – preparation, order of operations, discussion of OHS regulations.
  • Proceedings when removing flange connections.
  • Leak tests, leak test methods and OHS regulations.
  • Corrosion, erosion, electrochemical cell threat.
  • Stresses in flange bolted connections, including stresses in bolts – ground for using the gasket.
  • Practical activity/ On-the-job instruction Identification, compliance with documentation – reference conditions.

  • Checking the correctness of assembly, visual inspection.
  • Pressure test – preparation and course
  • Disassembly, unscrewing.
  • Exam
